Can't say for India

I'm 270 guy and for 30 caliber I chose 300WinMag over -06 .

So for the fear of mixing both the 06 and 7mm with 270 / 300

I never tried to buy them 7mm .

Mixing similar calibers costs a lot ,

A good friend of mine shot 243 out my 308 , last time he was my friend - Haji

i am a fan of 7mm but due to the draconian gun laws in the uk, dont have one as it cant do anything over and above the rifles i already possess.Im getting my mate to buy a 7x57 so i can shoot it.
7mm-08 is a good calibre that i have personally used in the past.

Not in India but there is my Ruger M77 in .280 Remington (aka 7mm Express Remington)
It is a 7mm bullet in a necked down 30-06 cartridge. The shoulder is moved up so it cannot chamber in a .30-06 or a .270. You can hand load it close to 7mm mag. ballistics with a lot less recoil.
