Is Shaktimaan going to produce ammo for Trap & Skeet
I heard a news from a friend that Shaktimaan is going to produce ammo for 12 gauge in trap and skeet.
Have someone heard of this news, please do share with my son who is happy to go trap training in Hydrebad range.
If they produce will the Indian shooters buy it?
Cheers

if the quality of the gun will be good then every one will buy those who can spare to have.
now a days achieving good quality is not a matter if you have good machines and qualified work force then you can a have the quality of perazzi shot gun.

It was even mentioned on the IOF site about 2 yrs back, where they were claiming all tall things, but i have never seen one on range or any shop.

It will be a good move if Shaktiman can produce Trap & Skeet Ammo.
The whole country will benefit.
But at the moment they produce in Paper tube only. OK not an issue if there is quality control. Mirage does produce paper tube no. 7 1/2 trap rounds.
Quality ammo has to have a good primer, asian grade primer like Fiochhi light better
It has to be a 24 gram of shot cartridge with 1.3 grams of powder developing 1300 to 1400 fps velocity.
What will be the price ? For a Pay and Play shooter ( Shotgun )
Inclusive of VAT todays ammo prices at Karni Singh shooting range are :
RC 4 - Rs 41
Fiocchi - Rs. 41
COMPAK - Rs. 33
Olympia - Rs. 30.50
Will shaktiman be able to match this ?
And the real trouble for a new shooter is the permit on his licence. 10 cartridges per day 100 in a year.
To learn skeet or trap a shooter needs 6000 to 7000 cartridges per year.
If a shooter is returning the empties at the range why do you need to endorse this purchase on the license he is never in possesion.
As for IOF
The 24 gram Astram no. 7 was produced in 2007.
The powder gave a ferocious kick. The primer metal was hard and our Perazzis and Berettas could not fire them.
Complaints were sent to IOF in Khadki, Pune and they decided to stop their production.
