the scales were sanded using grits 80 ~ 220, then coated with superglue

sanding again...this time using 400 grit wet or dry paper.

followed with 600, 800, 1000 and 1200 grits

the titanium bolsters came with a matte finish. this has been sanded to a satin finish.

and the finished knife...

a comparision...

happy :D ...but not very...due to two reasons:
1. over zealousness during sanding resulted in rounded off edges in the scales. there are gaps between the scales and the bolsters.
2. liners are of different thicknesses due to one scale being cut too thin.

Cool work! Knife looks like a masterpiece now! (no kidding)

And as for the reasons for "not very happy", I would say keep trying, probably after you do 2-3 project of a similar type, your "hand will be set" as the local carpenters say - haath set ho jaata hai, in Hindi!
Cheers!

Hi there Marthandan,
I just ordered a Becker BK14 Eskabar from Knifecenter.
Was wondering if you could help me or make for me some nice burl wood scales for this.
Thanks
Vasu
