Menton Shotgun

Dear Friends,

I have seen a good condition Menton Shot Gun ( England,Barrel Length 30",With Ejector + Side Lock + Cross Bolt ). It is having with father of my friend. I am unable to judge the price of that Gun. Please help me to find out its exact cost.

Menton of Calcutta was brand name of a sporting goods firm located at what is now called BBD Bag at Kolkata. They were something like a contemporary departmental store of that time. They had sporting arms made for them by the co-operatives of Birmingham with Menton as a brand name.It should be a very good gun provided:-
a] It has 2.75 inch chambers at least. If it is having two and half inch chambers then i would not buy it.
b] It should be proof marked for three and quarter tons or one and quarter ounces of load at least. This can be made out from the proof marks.
c] If the above conditions are satisfied and the weapon is 95 percent or above in condition then it should be atleast one lakh in price.

My father holds a Manton DBBL gun, the finish of this gun is very nice and the gun is very steady. with the chamber size 2.5" . Its barrels are with fine finish lines with a full chock left & cylender right, worth to have in collection.
