@skyman
M200 is very heavy , needs very high cocking effort , which you will gets used to in 100 to 200 shots.
In tamil there is a saying " Vallavanukku pullum aayudham" , which means "Even a grass will be a weapon who dares".
Hope the above line will be sufficient to make up your mind , be lucky to get the best piece ,since no two product will be the same in indian scenario.
I paid Rs 5100 /- for M200 + Canvas Cover + WD-40 oil + 2500 ct .22 pellet + Shipping.
First book those in AIMCO online , you will get email requesting you to deposit the amount in AIMCO account.
After your deposit , they will despatch to your address thru GATI transports. No need to worry , they are dependable.
I have not done any modifications , just centered the rear sight and peep sight inline with front sight, by using a theard as reference by holding it from front sight end to peep sight end.
It has peep sight also , for pictures , i will be able to click only on sundays.
please share your happiness after getting this "beauty and the beast" the M200.

@ Mercury thank you for clearing my misconception.Yes i too have heard the aimco is heavier, bout 4.5 kilos or so.
How do Ihp and aimco compare accuracy-wise? Seeing you have shot both.Thank you for the reply.
@ Pksraj, once again you are precise and clear. IN Kannada there is a saying- " Aadtha Aadtha Raga, Balitha Balitha Roga " Which means with practice you get the tune, with age you get disease- you will understand fully if you know Kannada. Same with regard to the gun eh?
I would be looking at a similar sum and the same items to purchase. Now that you have so fortunately done this before me, could i bother you some more? Is the cover any good? Correct me if i am wrong, a plastic cover is recomended vs canvas? How are the pellets? Should i get aimco or splurge for some pro ammo? Lastly does the oil do the job?
Please put up pics at your leisure. Close up pics of sights( all three ) barrel and trigger would be appreciated.
Thank you for detailed replies.

> Indian made ARs have to conform to legal requirements - Velocity of a 14gr pellet not to exceed 600 ft / sec - hence power will be restricted to 12 ft pound energy. This is adequete for most end uses.
> Since you're new to this sport (I presume) read the posts in this forum and you'll get a wealth of information.

Gentlemen, i will purchase in June-August as stated earlier.I will spend the time till then engaged in research.
@ Brihacharan- You are spot on with your post.It is precisely why i wish to talk to as many people about many different issues from different angles, so as to make an informed choice.I opened my research with the easiest to buy-Ihp and Aimco, then work my way upto rarer guns.
Thank you for letting me know IHP has resumed production, and the anticipated price drop. Now that you have mentioned the Canon 65, i have heard it is superior to the IHP 35 but procurement is a tad dicey.DO you have a canon 65, and can you tell me how it compares to the rest?
Thanks for the reply

Dear Skyman,
some IHP comes in horrible state as mine. Hard trigger, barrel sway,
eccentric piston, poor barrel catcher.
My synthetic seal lasted only 500 shots.IHP was courteous enough
to send me two new seal free of cost against my complain.
I had to do intense tuning to get it dead accurate.
Aimco, on the other hand, is a high power gun ,comes
in better state.

@ Basu...interesting thoughts on the board here.So a factory aimco usually arrives in better shape, and has higher power? This seems contray to the perception that IHP is more powerful.Your thoughts?
Thanks for the reply.

Briha Ji,
Do you have confirmed news that IHP has started production and that the ARs would be available in the market in Feb,2012 ? I am compelled to ask this question because, as of now, IHP website does not have any fresh information. The old news post is still there which tells us about stopping of production owing to High Court verdict.
Kindly enlighten us. This is important for me as I have been waiting for seven months for an IHP AR.
Regards,
Abbas

Dear Abbas,
Think Brihaji is correct, the website does say that IHP has resumed production in their latest update on thier website
New update (28-01-2012)
Honourable Supreme Court of India has given a stay on Honourable Delhi High Court order and IHP has resumed production of rifles.

I commend you for being the first person who puts a premium on accuracy over power in an airgun. You seem to have studied up on the subject before asking here....Skyman wrote:
1) I want accuracy, not power.Consistent accuracy is a must.
2) Therefore, the gun must have proper sights, barrel and other components integral to accuracy.Which manufacturer/Model has the best components and craftsmanship?
3) Light Trigger and cocking action.
But then again, why be able to mod internal components ? If you can answer that, I can help you further. I have recommendations but need your answers to the question.Skyman wrote:
4) Gun should be able to accept mods to internal components.

Dear Skyman,
IHP out of the box ,comes with soft spring, thus less powered.
this is made powerful with some modifications.
AIMCO comes with harder spring , so initially knock down
power is more.
My understanding is if there is more power then you have to
compromise in accuracy. With high power, you find pleasure
hitting cans, glass bottles or clay pots but you miss the charm
to hit 25Np coins quite often than not.

@ Basu...power does not harm accuracy.Take a .50 cal bullet...will take the head off a man even at 3 km or more.
This might be true in the case of airguns. You are right when you say shooting 25 p coins is a thrill, but is it not more of a challenge when it is so far it appears as a speck down your sights? Hence the power to go there, and the development of skill to get there.
You say a softer spring is more capable of mods.Could you tell me how so? As in a softer spring is easier to work with?
@ Fantum.... I can grow in skill, strength and capability. The gun cannot. When my progress is impeded by the fact that my gun is incapable of doing what i want it to, mods will help the gun get better, and consequently me.
Case point: when i wanted a six pack, i hit sit ups.I increased the reps till i hit 300 and more. There was the saturation point- 300 reps but not 300 reps worth of progress.SO i realized if i wanted to progress, i had to challenge my body in a new way.Hence i moved to leg raises.
Same with the gun. Will you help me now

Trust me you will take a long, long time to shoot as accurately as your air rifle can, even from a rested position.
The optimum power for an air rifle to shoot accurately is in the mid power range where it has minimum vibrations in the firing cycle. To that end the IHP35 is perfect, especially in .177 caliber. Also look at imported options.

Hmm...i was looking into .22 so as to better learn to compensate for bullet drop at range. Will an IHP 35 work to that end? in .22.
What is mid range power? and to have min vibes, is it not needed to mod internals to do so?
Don't have the money for imported guns...if someone can get it from the US though i'm looking at a nitropiston rifle.
