SOGLover wrote:I am definitely looking for Jungle Primitive as i go camping regularly and its just not a knife but a tool....i have tried other local knives which have an average blade of 3-5 inches and did not work at well though these knives were very sharp.....hence m looking forward for not just a knife but a complete camping tool kind of thing and Jungle Primitive kind of a 4in 1 piece....no offense but a swiss army knife is useless as i have tried 3 different ones...
With experience I can rubbish the ideal of "n-in-1" tool in real life. Good for pocket carry, but for heavy duty (and I actually mean heavy duty), these tools have "weak spots" that do not hold up when your life depends on it. So if you are a camper, then look at separate tools, than a 4-in-1.
Additionally, as Rajat says, blade steel will play a important role in wilderness (you don't want your blade to go dull in the middle of nowhere), so look at those aspects as well.

I got my SOG NW Ranger 2.0 from 20north but they've been shut for a while and giving further and further dates for their reactivation.
Its in AUS -8 and from, what I have heard SOG puts a damn good heat treat on their knives. However mine is pretty unused. So I cant give you a user POV. I bring it up because its about 5 inches easily carries and if you look up equip2endure on youtube there are some vids that show it compares surprisingly well to far more expensive camp type knives and holds an edge really well.
I also suggest you invest in a decent guided angle sharpening system.

look pal, its about time you listened to the advice given, and if you want to get a knife above 9inch then you get one and break the law, thats upto you. so stop going about how you want to break the law, unless you are trolling then welcome as i need some one to spare with.
