Just bought the IHP 35 from Oriental Arms New Delhi for 8500.. Without Scope. Was I overcharged?prasanjit.baul wrote:chucky wrote:Try contacting Mr. Biswas at aimco.co.in. The price may vary marginally but not by much. Forget Rs. 8500, you will get it for a lot less.

I never knew these dealers charge as they wish for Indian made guns.
I knew they do for Imports, but I thought it must be genuine.
I checked here and I thought Oriental arms was a pretty reputed place.
Do you bargain in a Gun Shop..?
Also is there anyone here who assists in Imports for a fee, if I didn't want to go to the hassle of joining a membership etc?

Dear Friends.
Using a scope for an air rifle is a waste.
Using a scope for a fire arm is not legal in India.
Shooting skill is without scope only.
Learn to increase your sight power by proper medication, Yoga and eye exercises.
So why worry about a scope.

says who? from your statement i presume that you do not know what your are saying.pandian1948 wrote:Dear Friends.

pray tell, which section of the arms act are you referring to?Using a scope for a fire arm is not legal in India.
again says who? once more you do not know anything about the subject from your statement one presumes. as matter of fact using a scope is very technical subject which involves moa, wind, range , target size and some maths to say the least.Shooting skill is without scope only.
yes why worry when taking drugs to improve your eyesight? how about after effects? yes yoga and eye exercise will help. thats the only thing you said that s makes some sense.Learn to increase your sight power by proper medication, Yoga and eye exercises.

how about eating carrots to improve vision? eh whats up doc?

Re: Scope for SDB 45 Classic .22 air rifle
i would not make a sweeping statement as Pandian has"....using a scope for an air rifle is a waste"; that is ones choice. but one can question the neccessacity of a scope on an airgun.
given that MOST airguns have an effective accuracy of out to 35 yards..quality open sights are are good enough.
wind, range and basic math are necessary for both; open sights and scope.
also shooting with a scope is difficult to master. an air rifle, being heavy is by itself diffuclt to hold the sight on. add the weight of the mounts etc and it gets more difficult.
i would suggest checking out your skills with open sights....tuning your rifle for optimum output and then maybe...scopes.
and hey Naga, carrots are great for the eyes. part of the diet of most special forces.
i am not a big fan of scopes on air rifles.
my 350 classic gives me a pretty flat trajectory out to 50 yards (thats my zero) and am happy with the fibre optic sights.
carrots are good for the eyes. part of the diet of most special forces world over.
regards.

You are shooting at 50m with open sight? What is the size of the object?mercury wrote:i would not make a sweeping statement as Pandian has"....using a scope for an air rifle is a waste"; that is ones choice. but one can question the neccessacity of a scope on an airgun.
