Decided on some Jackalope hunting practise...

Post by MoA » Sun Dec 18, 2011 2:23 am

Now Jackalopes are very wily creatures, and generally need to be hunted with Milsurps.. so decided to go out for some practise. Especially since this year I have had scant little practise.

Well..
Here is my favourite Kitchen Utensil
Image

Also decided on my favourite Milsurp of all time.

Of course one needs a decent auto as well..

And of course for reliability a Mauser is hard to beat
Image

So I finally took a scoped rifle (Rem 700 7/08) and was ready... think I had enough to practise Jackalope hunting?
Image

Sad realisation.. I am no longer cut out for prone shooting. Age is catching up.. as is the belly
Image

Doing some shooting while walking drills. Helps in getting those damned Jackalopes... Essentially you keep walking towards the target whithout stopping to shoot, while shooting and changing magazines on the move.

Trrying to hit something..

And yes I do know I am old fat and ugly. Tell me something I don't know..

Good one! I laughed at the one of you carrying all the weapons. No jackalopes are going to get by you!
Don't worry about the belly, bro, we're all getting to be in the same state. Hey, at least you have all your hair, can't say the same here.

Of course, every time I see that Stgw 57, I have to be careful to prevent my keyboard from being covered with drool. We're still waiting for the report on it with the field stripping instructions.

The only gear missing is a pump/semi like a SPAS and a .50BMG.And of course an RPG. And a pair of pistols.Where are the ammo bandoleers and a big bad bowie?

Nice guns you got there.MoA.

You look younger, fitter and handsomer than the last time. What's the secret? :?: :?:

To good shooting

Where is this? US?

The only regret I have of returning from the States are the Gun laws.. I didn't even bring one for myself. Learnt later that you can have one transferred if you have stayed for more than a year... SHould at least have packed a Glock

Funnily enough it's France. You wouldnt have guessed it.

As for bandoliers.. they dont carry enough ammo. I use NATO 250 round cans typically. If someone or something get's close enough to warrant the use of a pistol or a Bowie the purpose is defeated. I do have a bunch of bayonets though.

As for the pump action left it at home... there is only so much you can carry practically.

It is good that you have the bayonets, MoA, as jackalopes are not only wily, but they are known to charge when wounded.

Nice collection; thanks for sharing!

Glad you liked the vids...
Will try and take some more while going auto. Though with X'Mas this weekend might be a while before I can do that.

By Jove. The videos are fantastic. What firepower! If you use all that stuff on that creature you will be left with Jackalope keema for dinner.

Naah not ugly anyone so many guns gets handsome day by day :-). I've heard about some very unsettling jackalope encounters, make sure you get Carpet sahib's blessings first.
