Bushnell scopes for Springers.....

Post by fantumfan2003 » Tue Oct 20, 2009 8:29 pm

Here is a the entire list of scopes from Bushnell that can be mounted on springers.

http://www.bushnelloutdoorproducts.eu/w ... un-scopes/

There are quite a few of them.....

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

This seems to be a list of Bushnell scopes suitable for airguns, probably not all springer rated.

My doubt stems from Rusty's damaged Banner, mounted on his 97k

ali,

Yes indeed it does give that impression. Its says on the bottom of the page "Designed for adult break barrel airgun recoil | Worldwide leader in airgun scopes", but many springers are known to wreck some Bushnells. Its best to err on the side of caution. I refer to these links....

http://www.straightshooters.com/navagat ... tions.html

http://www.kermitairgunclub.com/scopes/

.....and still don't take risks. Its safe to put only Centerpoint/Leapers and Hawke scopes on springers.
Bushnell has a 6-18 Trophy model thats springer rated. I know one being used on an HW80 and an RWS54 which is know to be a scope killer like its stable mate the 350M. They also say that their Elite series is springer rated but can't confirm that.

As stated previously, I would err on the side of caution and if in doubt, would not put a scope on a springer.
I have a Bushnell Legend from Mack The Knife that is springer rated but have not put it on my Diana's.

Regarding Mack The Knife's Bushy Banner going belly up, I read a post on airgunbbs that mentions using a Bushy Banner 6-24x40 on a Venom Lazerglided HW97K which seems to suggest different qualities of manufacture or an issue with the mounts. A bad mount or badly mounted mount can wreck a scope.

Hi Guys,
> Just consider this:
1. Air Rifles have a maximum range of 40yds.
2. Hence the necessity for a variable magnification scope (3-9 or higher) is questionable.
3. Fixed scopes such as 4 x 32 are ideal - It brings the object 4 times closer ie: an object at 30yds appear at 7.5yds - close enough to get a good shot.
4. In variable scopes there are more elements than fixed power scopes - hence chances of greater damage due to dual shocks as in airguns.
5. Lastly check if the scope is built with ASR (Anti Shock Resistant) technology before buying one.
6. I've been using a Walther 4 x 32 scope with ASR - No problems so far!!!
Cheers

I don't know how the recoil rating made by the people. Looks like it is just a guts feeling.

Better bet is, but a recoil protected scope mount and put any scope and that will last for ever.

Second option go for small objective if you are putting them on Heavy recoil springer. I have a bushnell sprortsman 3x9x40 fitted on my hw80 /R1, 3 yrs I am having no problem.

My hw77 is sub 12ft-lbs therefore I mounted a Barska 50mm Objective and this is equally taking lot of abuse.
