Air Pistol for a Beginner

Guys I saw some reviews for Air Pistols and would like to get some direction as to which one I can gift a beginner. I don't know if he takes to the sport but would like to try nevertheless. I narrowed them to the following CROSMAN 1377C by Crosman Pump, BENJAMIN HB17 by Benjamin Sheridan, HW 40 PCA by Weihrauch (Is this CO2?) Is CO2 recharge easily available in India? If so then I guess the range could broaden quite a bit. I am planning on spending upto $125 on this and carrying it to India in the next 2-4 months. Irony is Pyramidair (http://www.pyramydair.com) is less than 10 miles from my house but since they do not have a showroom or dealers in the area cannot get to handle/test these guns. Please advice what you would recommend.

My choice would be the HW40. It is a single stroke pneumatic, so no CO2 involved.

Sorry dont have much idea about air guns, does pneaumatic mean it needs to be charged?

Yes, single or multi-stroke pneumatic means that it does not need to be charged from an external source.

Members/readers, please advise a suitable (compressed)air-pistol for a (girl) beginner of 12 years of age. In what range should the weight and barrel length of the pistol be so as to suit best?

Get a Steyr LP 10 Junior model it should fit her like a glove.

Hello Dev and everyone else,
Chkd up with Steyr. They recommend LP2 or LP2 Compact for very young beginners. Weight of the pistol is about 800gms. And one of the two comes without the barrel shroud and the stabilisator!!!!!!!Now what do these terms refer to and is the performance of the shooter affected without these features.
Hv rqstd them for the prices.
So whats your opinion now. LP10 is out of the reckoning because of weight/size etc.
Please revert.

Yup the LP 2 at 800 gms is what I have seen one little champion shoot with. But her's is a shiny nickel one and she shoots like a champion with it. the barrel shroud is an attachment that covers the barrel and is used to at times reduce the noise a little or reduce the slight recoil. The stabiliser is used to add a little weight to the pistol.

I think you are on to a good thing now.

A shiny type pistol comes in LP10 which Steyr has termed as LP10 Silver. Dont know if they sell silver type in LP2.

Please tell me where is the stabiliser located and is it visible so that I am careful while buying a pistol other than a LP2.

The stabiliser in german match pistols is normally under the barrel. In other makes it should be on the barrel itself unless I'm confused.
