No it is not. Just wait for a while and let the import issue get cleared. Then get yourself one. If you pay much less you can pick up an Indian .22 LR rifle and have loads of money left for cartridges.

IOF .22 LR rifle would literally give you a better bang for the buck. I'd pick it over an air rifle any day.

Is there any news regarding permitting import of .22 air rifle?

There is no way for the government to give you a let go for Air Rifle imports specially in .22 calibre.

Even if the import is allowed, their preference would be for Competition grade closed sight air rifles.

However any day the quality of craftmanship, accuracy in the German and English Air Rifles are way superior than a Indian Make IOF (I have seen a brand new IOF that had a black painted barrel & stock had a brown paint).

Sharda Gun House in Delhi has Diana air rifles but it comes in the 40K plus category. Recently bought an IHP (25Mt) .22 Air gun from him for 10K.

350 mag .22 cal will cost somewhere in between 60k yo 75k in delhi. The 460 mag .22cal will set you back by 90k.If you go for .177 cal in these models then reduce 15k to 20k for respective models.
