Re: Tips on Pistol Shooting
Hello Jitu,
Welcome back. First and foremost, a year old LP10 should not cost you that much, more in the region of Rs 50-55000/- You would be better off buying a new ap.
Secondly, its time you moved on to trigger training lessons along with the exercise you are doing presently.
Best Regards

Hello Jitu,
Since , I am travelling a lot and dont carry my laptop (no pun intended) with me, there will be a gap of a few days from one reply to another. So kindly bear with me ( thanks Dev).
Please read up the entire lesson on trigger training, practice, then get back to me if you have any difficulties.
Best Regards

Re: Mental Training for Sports & General Life.
Dear hvj1 Sir and all friends on this forum
I am late to catch up with the thread and all your lessons. But I am doing them slowly but surely. I gave my introduction today on the forum. In fact, I am aware of the SOA which I learnt during the training classes in France. Here is mine.
1- Feel the trigger blade squeeze for a few times (eyes closed)
2- Load the gun
3- 4/5 abdomenal respirations and an internal scan of the body (eyes closed) to check the balance of stance, muscle tensions if any.
4- Feel the grip (eyes still closed) and the placement of the finger tip on the trigger blade
5- Lock the hip, turning the head and take a look on the target without fixing the look anywhere particularly.
6- Lock the grip and lift the weapon over the target while breathing in and sight alignment over the target
7- Breathe out half and come down to the aiming zone
8- Self talk, kind of a command 'see clear sight' and finish the 1st trigger pull (approx 350g on my pistol)
9- Self talk, a kind of command 'Go' which starts the 2nd trigger pull work (approx 200g on my pistol) while keeping the perfect SA
10- Follow through till the trigger stop (which I have kept a bit long so as to do a good follow through)
11- call and analysis
12- Think of something happy which brings a smile on me (I usually think of my little daughter's caprices)
Then I start afresh.
My experience is that it works very very well if applied before each shot. But I am not able to stick to my SOA everytime. The tension / expectation gains over me and makes me forget the good work. There I need to do rigourous work.
Your comments please!
warm regards

Re: Tips on Pistol Shooting
Hi Jitu,
I was feeling rather unmotivated for a while, hence I began to re-read this thread again. What HVJ1 has covered is really amazing, in fact the depth he has gone into is outstanding. I think if we just read it all again, we will catch a lot of our errors or lapses in practice.
For instance I began to tinker with my pistols trigger and began to check how the pistol pointed, whether I was focusing on the front sight and then aligning the rear sight? Or doing it some other way. I found that I never did the mental shot before doing the real shot (hurray another area to improve). So I'm sure even if he takes his time to reply his notes will help us gain quite a few points. Now, if only he could do the hard work of practicing for us eh?
Wasn't calling you impatient or anything just letting you know that even dedicated coaches have a life.
Regards,
Dev

hey dev
no offence taken bhai. i was really acting impatient so i was genuinely thanking u for pulling me back. i can understand hvj must be really busy but he has taken out so much of his time to give us such pearls for trg. by the way this is also my favourite passtime. going through the thread one topic at a time. it really helps.
