We the Indifferent?

Post by Vikram » Thu Nov 17, 2011 11:33 pm

Is anybody watching "We the People" show on NDTV? I just saw the show wherein almost everyone was extolling virtues of fighting back and not depending on the police or others to come and help. Unsurprisingly, nevertheless distressing, neither the worthies on the dais nor the audience touched the subject of 'how'.How would a girl defend herself against grown men or a man numerically outnumbered and out-muscled?

And meanwhile, Messrs.Chidambaram expects us to prove the existence of threat to our lives.

Many people out there are afraid to use the word "gun" in public. We must keep in mind though that there are a lot of normal, supposedly logical people who will tune out the speaker if he/she uses the word "gun" when mentioning the solution to any problem. It is kind of a dilemma.

Briha has the best idea. You want to see better, more sensible self defense laws? Easier access to the implements of self-defense?

Yup, all you have to do is to make politicians responsible for their own security. Make sure that there are no special exemptions for politicians.

If we want to blame anyone for this state of affairs though, we can only blame the voter as they are the ones who put these politicians in office. By that same token, only the voter can remove them from office. Do not vote a party line, vote for the individual who will best fulfill your needs. NAGRI should be able to tell you which politicians are self-defense friendly and which ones are not.

I once asked Bharka Dutt (On Twitter)why she doesn't talk about basic human right of self defence on her program? She blocked me  :(

The "popular" media is in the hands of corrupt. Corrupt never want people to talk or be aware about self defense.

Just keep track on this country's policies. We are just being sucked by leaches. They are taking loads of tax and offering no safety.Peoples life here has no value(they are thinking we are 1.21 billion worthless).Anti social elements very well have all kinds of fire arms and a name sake of our national leader is crying like babies over pellet air guns.

Sadly thats the truth in our country. We can not expect the police to protect us in cases like gunfires and robbery.

WE are indifferent . We IFGians and '' due in the days, months and years to come '' NAGRI are indifferent. We are the ones who are in the real receiving end in the line of fire, vis Fried, turner, grilled, barbequed , to get a licence, forced to( marry) or live unwillingly with a GUN we have to pay for , equivalent to a dowry, get into .'..'ed (INTIMACY) of shooting with that gun only that many times allowed by our BABUS . Most common people think that guns are for the rich , strong and popular , IAS & IPS guys think citizen with guns are a THREAT to them We simply brag and murmur among ourselves and I dont know till when this will go on.When are we going to really practically get our rights?

Hmm.....Interesting....but then being one of the popular ring masters of a circus called the Indian Media that's an expected response.

You did not do anything to add to a persons popularity or to help increase a TV channels TRPs

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.
