Hi Everyone
A big hi to everyone in this forum. I have been a regular visitor for the past few months, but its just today that I registered with this forum.
An avid sports lover that I am and keen to pick up shooting, I am seeking information on coaches/clubs in Chennai. (I have tried the chennai rifle club, but to no avail). Am willing to relocate too, to learn shooting.. say down south... is bangalore a good shooting hub and any recommended club?
looking forward to all your wonderful insights, advcie and information.

Re: Hi Everyone
Welcome aboard Vidhya. I am a member of KSRA in Bangalore. The range was very recently renovated and the facilities are very good. Membership fee is very much on the cheaper side. You have quite a few good shooters out here who are more than willing to mentor if need be. PM me if you need anymore info.

Re: Hi Everyone
thank you all for the quick and wonderful responses..
@ Dr. Jayakumar - thank u for ur response. I heard frm the Chennai Rifle Club that they have suspended membership as for new for newbies and it will take a while and besides it will be first in-first out basis. so i am not v positive about it. As for bangalore and madurai - if u have details reg fees and all can u pls provide.
@ Prabhath - thanks for the info. can u let me knw the membership fee, besides training and coaching charges. I heard that to become a member of KSRA, one needs to be a resident of karnataka. is that right?
@ vikram, airgun_novice and brihacharan - cheers to u all

Re: Hi Everyone
vidhya,
The joining fee is Rs 2500/- which includes the membership fee for a year and the fee for the CRTC. After the probationary first year, the annual fee and the membership fee comes up to Rs 1000/-. Renewals on a yearly basis after that cost you Rs 500/-. No coaches currently at KSRA.....so no cost. About the resident part........do not think so. One of my friends is from Kolkatta but is a member of KSRA. All you need is a valid proof of address which can be verified by the cops.

Welcome to forum. Hope your dream joining club become a reality soon. Anyway your non possession rather I should say non-owning of any gun or fire arm shouldn't be a big issue. Clubs do keep guns for practice by the members which you can avail as and when you join the club anywhere.
Seems you are well acquainted with guns and all despite all these facts. Good luck and shoot safe.
