i want to buy a espada. x large.
Who's teh authorised dealer and how are the prices. I was at Saleh's Arms just yesterday and Cold Steel products are insanely priced, eg: INR 8000 for the paradox balisong, and the same for American Lawman.....

Coldsteel website lists paradox balisong for 129.99 US dollars. The price quoted by M. Saleh is no way insanely priced.

Hi,
New to this.. My friend is a knife lover and wants a Cold Steel Recon 1 Tanto 27LTH. I want to gift this to him so i wanted to know how to go about getting it. I'm from pune so if there is any place nearby or if there is any online store that will deliver to my address without the custom issue.
Any help/advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
Siddarth

The problem with Indian sellers is they calculate everything on the msrp, which is inaccurate as the street prices are considerably low. For eg. All online retailers sell it for about 80 USD. So if you can it is cheaper to get it online, say from knifecenter.

yes it happens. but it happens with almost all imported things that comes to India. there is custom duty, shipping. vat and margin that adds. thats also the reason we dont get all the good stuff in india. i hope the knife market gets established in india and we also get good offers like usa in future.

I would still say we live in better times now - importing individual knives is not much trouble. For eg. I got $60 knife with $29 FedEx shipping from kc, and it reached me as promised in a week. FedEx does the customs clearance as well and I paid no duty on it.
It is far too easy to get good knives into India now. Yes, things can get tricky if you are importing a truckload, but that is never the case with us. We get one or two knives at a time for individual use.
The availability of online shopping, competitive prices, and reliable shipping have made things a lot easy for us.

So If I imprt a knife through Kc which is under legal limit(9" long , 2" wide), there would be no coustome charges? I am not looking for most expencive ones but please give give some more info of how much can be the spend on knife without paying for custome. I would be very thankfull for a detailed responce.

Do find out he prices from this authorised distributor for all the models available. Recon 1 is top of the line tactical folder from Cold Steel, sure to cost a bomb in Delhi. I've handled an American Lawman and it's got a superb build quality, I'm sure the Recon 1's better.
