Hello Marksman,
Every expert begins as a rookie sometime. If you;re interested in guns and shooting there are many people here who would be able to help. Start with air rifle shooting - whether you want to go into formal shooting or into plinking for friendship and some fun is your choice.
You will never have problems finding friends here and also experienced shooters and industry experts who could guide you in your quest. The greatest fun in this is in learning through shooting. Believe me, you will enjoy yourself once you get started.
Do post your locationa s Inder suggests. We have groups that meet in various parts of India as well as in Chicago in the USA. It is always a pleasure to get to meet other shooters and to share one's knowledge and interests.
We also have dedicated angling anthusiasts here as well as 4 wheel drive and off roading enthusiasts and dog enthusiasts. There is a lot here, and that is reason for members to post regularly and post often.

Are you the same guy who shot 1991 trap and skeet with me in the nationals at Delhi. You have a home in Ooty or something as well. The name sounds very familiar.
I am based in Mumbai and am into .22 lr pistol and rifle shooting and of course shotgun shooting. Couldn't make a grade at national level though due to want of time, such is my work. Have to make two ends meet also.
I am very happy and excited to meet you like minded guys.
