gents let us not confuse war with urban policing, unless ones intention is to slaughter the innocent.

My 2c one thing I dont get it is why cant MARCOS be more effective and readily available to support mumbai police one wrinkle could ne defense forces crossing the boundary over to civvy side? Beside this point if Mumbai or any police wants some heavy calibre stuff then so be it -- even NYC police is suspected to have antiplane missile aka stinger etc so why cant police have same calibre weapon/ Especially when the bad guys are upgrading their weapons and outgunning the police. Even with concern of plausible collateral damage these guys can hopefully can be better prepared and armed. Remember such statements are also some kind of cyber warfare warning the bad guys that city is prepared.

Cheers

:agree: however, the core problem is that the issue of the ages that is corruption, pride, upmanship political interference etc prevents from doing a good job. we can not compare mumbai police with the MARCOS who are highly self motivated, highly selected, highly intelligent, highly valuled and so on :D

as to why the MARCOS are not called, is due to lack of cooperation and responsibility also one can not overstep one area of responsibility. water belongs to navy and the land to armed forces etc. in other words we are quite happy to cut our own throats.

timing may be different, even so, which country police is likely to use .50 cal in this situation? when a .308 would suffice? which country police is more accountable? this is what we should be looking at.
