Question 1 - not sure of the current price
Question 2 - In a word the answer is, NO! It is perfectly safe to fire high/ hyper velocity ammo (like the CCI stingers, Remington Yellow Jackets, etc.) through the IOF .22 rifle.

Cheers!

I would choose to use Stingers in a fairly open terrain for plinking as they are more likely to explode on contact by the very virtue of it's design and thus less likely to ricochet and travel to unintended territories. As for accuracy IMHO, I have found them pretty apt with rifles and sporting handguns with longer barrels but it really comes into it's element in a handgun in a self protection mode. I have heard of many stupid hunters who associated sheer speed with knock down power of this Stinger leaving animals wounded to suffer lingering deaths in the past.
