Hi XL-Target,
the tone was not to offend anyone ,and if it did i apologise for the same.
I got these modifications done a month back,i was pleased with the results, but somewhere i was not satisfied.I knew that without getting to know the opinions of my esteemed friends here on the forum i would never be satisfied ,yet i was apprehensive too and probably that was the reason that held me back from posting it.I knew i would have to be prepared for some close scrutiny of the job done and its effectiveness,handling etc.I have immense respect for the learned people here on the forum because i have learnt a lot about guns and shooting from you guys while observing diff threads.i am extremely satisfied that you guys have appreciated my effort .and last but not the least if my words have offended anyone of my friends here ,i am extremely sorry.

Hi Vinay

Terrific job here, i just have two questions

1. If barrel lenght was shortened a bit
2. Did it costed a bomb, and if not then how much
3. How about getting a picatinny rail mount adjacent to trigger guard for laser or a flashlight

May be IOF chaps can take a few lessons from you and your Gunsmith.

I have a follower inserted and now its much better as it feeds properly and extracts efficiently.

Dear Vinay,

You have done a great job... But i am coming back to the same question which most of us are awaiting a reply for.
1 how much did that cost you for overall modification?
2 who was the gunsmith OR will you help us in case, someone want's to get his IOF pistol modified in the same way?

Let's say a valid arms licence holder has to shoot someone with a modified IOF pistol as above in self defense under genuine circumstances.The case is up for hearing and the defense lawyer says that this is not the gun sold to the licencee by IOF and demands that an expert from IOF be called for cross examination .... what then?

When someone has acted in self defense as mentioned in Sections 96 to 106 IPC, who sold the weapon used for self defense or whether the possesion of weapon was legal, is not something that needs to be proved. What needs to be proved is whether the act done by the person was in conformity with the relevant Sections of IPC.

If for some reason it is required to ascertain who sold the pistol used for self defense, it can be ascertained from the arms license. If the sale and the possession of pistol is done as per Arms Act 1959, it is perfectly legal. This modification also appears perfectly legal, the bore has not been modified, semi auto has not been modified into full auto etc.

Modifying the gun does not make it "more deadly" so I don't see how the question should even come up. As GM says, as long as it is legal, why would it make a difference?
