What replaces Model 70 ?

Now that Winchester have discontinued the evergreen Model 70, what is on offer from them as a Bolt action rifle ? Which model or line is a replacement ?

Google up Kimber of America. Their 8400 series is a superior rifle to the Model 70 in it's factory version.

Kimber of AMerica ? Is is a Winchester Arms concern ?

If any other Rifle then there is plenty on offer. CZ is my favourite, there is Ruger, then Tikka, Sako, and some good offering from Mauser, Mannlicker, and some other US makers, Remington.

But the question is has WInchester stopped making Bolt action Medium calibre sporting rifles ? The Super X they feature is an auto loader.

Where did I say that Kimber was owned by Winchester?

But, if you are looking at an improved Model 70 clone, the only one manufactured at the moment is by Kimber of America.

Winchester do not make any centrefire bolt action rifles.

On what action is this Kimber modelled ? Pity a firm like Winchester have stopped bolt action Center fire rifles. Model 70 was such a success in all these years, and WInchester a leading Rifle maker of America for over a century.
