The days when the starter pistols will be banned from import as well may soon become a near future reality . Times Of India, an article where an individual was detained at Mumbai airport with five starter pistols and three Dominator air rifles. His argument being that he owned a 60 acre farm in Ratnagiri district and has bought these airguns (?) and starter pistols to scare away the wild animals that regularly raid his farmland. His son earlier had tried getting in twenty starter pistols along with 14.000 air pellets. Looks like they have designated a particular pistol/airgun to scare each wild animal individually.
Incidentally, the demand for starter pistol and its' ammo has increased tremendously in Bollywood and television as well because of which these birdbrains seek quick bucks. The High court now has left the decision upto the state Govt whether these pistols too should be banned. Result! More revenue for the depts. concerned...........
