Wow! This could be useful indeed! I never knew such a work existed in the vernacular.... if you are in touch with Mr. Salam, maybe you could ask him if we can use excerpts from his book in a booklet form... part of an awareness campaign booklet... Just thinking aloud here...
Cheers!

I have asked Piyush to invite him to join IFG. When I come to India, perhaps later this month then I'll go to see him.

Did they give you in writing as to why they rejected your application? If not, then get it in writing from them under the RTI before going in for an appeal. By the way, who rejected your Pistol License?

Piyush.
Have you seen the Indian made .22 Long Rifle? Your budget for a BSA or any other make is Rs.35,000 for a .22 Calibre. Am I correct? If yes, then the Indian one that I just mentioned is at a lesser price and is a very good weapon. It's a copy of Brno.Like someone mentioned, BSA has a perennial problem of ejection with KF cartridges. I had two of them and have sold one for Rs. 20,000 about two years back. So I would suggest that you go for the Indian one.

Piyush. The District Magistrate has no right to reject your application as he is not the granting authority for a Pistol Licence. His job is to forward the case and if approved then he has to grant the License. For a Revolver or Pistol License, the granting authority is the Commissioner. I still suggest that you go in for the Indian .22 L.R. There is a Tamil Nadu High Court ruling regarding such matters which says " Right to carry arms should be read with right to life." Look for it and send a legal notice to the Joker(D.M.) I don't know why officers have to exceed their brief in the first place.

Not BSRA Piyush. Ask Ahmad Salam to join IFG and other dealers from Patna as well, Bashar Khan, Birendar Singh of Ujjain Arms, Vinod of Patna GUn House and the lot.
When I come there, we will getogether to discuss scope and preview of BSRA of course.
