The best spring compressor will actually be a carpenters Vise which should ideally be a bit longer than your airguns main portion (where spring is contained) have seen a few gunsmiths use this and it works fine for them so no reason why it shouldn't work for us.

Finaly I build my own Air Rifle Spring Compressor
C vice --- Rs. 96/-
Drilling & cutting Charges – Rs. 15/-
Plywood – old
Two Plumbing clamp- Rs. 10/-
Nut & bolt---Rs. 10/-
Total cost Rs 131/-
If you buy an plywood also then the total cost will not go more then Rs. 250/-
