Help required regarding mumbai customs

Hi all,
I am prasanth. I arrived to India a couple of weeks ago and I was carrying an air rifle in .177 cal which was confiscated at the customs . As I have a connecting flight to hyderabad in 1hour I was unable to talk with them and left it at the airport. I was given an advice slip and was asked to collect after one day. But the distance between Hyderabad and Mumbai is making me difficult to reach there .

Is there a way I can send some of my friends to fetch it for me with the advice slip? and how many days do I have to collect it from the customs?
Please let me know any other way where I can get the gun. Also let me know if anyone works with or know by chance the airport officials.
