Can anyone identify this ammo?

Post by Katana » Sat Jul 23, 2011 1:33 pm

Came across some ammo I had not seen anywhere. I have not been able to pinpoint it. Can anyone help?

Calibre seems to be .22 or near about and are in two lenghts, but they have no headstamp.

The smaller ones are .297/.230 Morris short and the longer ones are .297/.230 Morris long.
Google a bit and you will find lots of info.

I do remember seeing a Model 6 BSA in Ahmedabad a couple of years ago. The dealer had purchased a lot of .22lr rifles from a club that has been dormant for some time.

Chances of finding these .297-230 rifles are rare.Bulk of them got exported in the late 70's.What u can find is the ammunition which could not be exported then. If yoou are in Delhi you can see the ammunition with quite a few dealers.
