What I found interesting was the way the owner loses his eloquence when it comes to the O/U for the masses :D

For anyone interested in the functioning of sidelocks and shotguns in general, do watch this excellent documentary. Not just for looking at fine guns but to understand terms in action like intercepting sears, bar-action sidelock or back-action, rebounding hammers,etc. You can see how a series of interconnecting parts work together to provide years of performance. I do not think you will find a better visual demonstration of how a traditional shotgun works.
