Doctors vs Gun owners

Post by Subal das » Sat Jul 16, 2011 1:31 pm

Doctors

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.

(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.

(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services.

Now think about this:

Guns

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80 million)

(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.

(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188.

Statistics courtesy of FBI

So, statistically, doctors are approximately

9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Remember, 'Guns don't kill people, doctors do..'

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT

ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. (bwhahaha)

We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

Out of concern for the public at large, I withheld the statistics on
lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention!

Thanks Das for sharing...but thought you missed out the punchline

..author unknown (but obviously brilliant)

- Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes. :deadhorse: (Imagine India maybe its 15 mins + in metros and Hours in Rural)

- The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS :agree:

that actually little bit simplified and incorrect statement - Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000. Most of such deaths occurs during transfers, when patients transfered between departments or hospitals. Not necessary that those mistakes made by doctors, it can be nurse or ICU technician, or OT technician, or lab lab report error. but the figure is on rise, few years ago that was 100 000.

dr.jayakumar - I doubt in our time I can be sure in anything. Even in medical text books.

I think this joke has been posted twice before.
You want more gun control? Use both hands!

God made man and God made woman, but Samuel Colt made them equal.

One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted. by Jose Gasset.
