Catch them young...

Post by Olly » Thu Jun 16, 2011 8:30 pm

A couple of days ago this brother and sister duo insisted on going to the Karni Singh Range for a watch and learn session. While the brother had visited the range earlier for participating in the Nationals, the sister was an absolute novice - never having fired a gun before....

Little did they know that their 'good Uncle' Amit8888 was also at the range practising double trap. A courtesy call to know welfare, soon transformed into an invitation to bring the siblings over to enjoy the thrill of shotgun shooting. Jumping at the invitation, the duo soon forgot about the 10m Air Pistol that they had come to play and off they trotted to the Trap range. So much was the enthusiasm, the younger homo-sapien even forgot about his running nose that was dripping like a leaking faucet of which he was complaining constantly and accusing it of spoiling his aiming accuracy !!

A beautiful Perazzi with Champion RC-4 rounds awaited them at the trap range and an ever willing Uncle who was only too happy to guide them into the sport. God bless him, and may all children have uncles like him... !!

The experience I will leave for the duo to explain in their own words.
Here are a few pics....

That is a good start. I run a shooting school as well and it is a very satisfying experience. Good job.

Very nice, Olly and Amit.
Great job with those kids!

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.
