Can a regular Webley be Gold plated? How much would it cost & would the plating hold after firing?

What about Silver plating?

Only commenting because the thread starter asked for comments.

It looks horrible, utterly ugly. But I understand if someone likes it.
It's not to my taste.

Ah.... A Barbeque British piece. Pity it'll attract muggers instead of scaring them off...No offence meant.

The revolver seems to be a gold plated gun instead of full made gold gun. Native Gold is a very ductile ,malleable ,sectile, being easily cut with a knife. Hardness is 2.5- 3 S.Gravity is 12-20 the variation being due to the metals with which the gold specimen may happen to be alloyed. The electroplating of the gun is good and the craftsmanship is excellent, but it is not a full gold made gun as the mineralogy and metallurgy never permits a gun to resist heavy pressure of a bullet exhaust. Some tyrants of modern world also had the gold guns but they were all gold plated. Bond film 'Man with golden gun' have gold prop gun which was a assembled gun have a single-shot, breech-loading pistol; Scaramanga typically only uses a single bullet for each hit, as he is famous for always hitting his mark. In the film it is said to fire made-to-order 4.2mm rounds with 20 gram (~308 grain) gold-nickel bullets. While this may seem unreasonably heavy, gold is almost twice as dense as lead, and 20 grams equates to just over one cubic centimeter of gold. The bullets actually shown in the movie are .25 ACP or .32 ACP cases fitted with pointed rifle bullets.
Hence, a gun gun made of 18 carat is too not possible. Apart from the comments I regard Raja Sanjay Singh's Family as I visited several times at his Palace at Amethi.

Agreed with shooter...There is connection between the statements and the reality.Remember 'Merchant of Venice' Shakespeare.. and the statement...all that glitters is not gold.Yes there are few engravers and electroplaters in Kolkata,Jaipur and Jammu I heard too.I met in 2005 in Kasmir an old gentleman who was an excellent craftsman. Here the revolvers which has been exhibited has the punch and hit technique used, which is a common technique used by the Bengal school of craftsmanship. The traces are very common in wooden work too. Therefore ,the work done may had been in Calcutta not Kolkata...the city of joy!!!!
