If hunting disturbs you, you may not want to read any further.
Have been getting several PM's on hunting in Africa. African plains game has a build different then game in North America. The vitals are in a different area for a broadside shot. The vitals are much farther forward on African animals than they are on North American animals.
Where you hit a game animal is sometimes more important than what you hit it with. And it is our solemn responsibility to put an animal down after a fair chase and with minimal suffering and that means hitting it in the right area. Would recommend that if you are considering going you get a copy of a book that is small enough to fit into your pocket and has shot placement as well as interesting tidbits on the animal.
The spotted deer I hunted in Texas that is supposedly from India was shot and went down when hit in the same area that I would shoot American game, am not sure of the build of Indian game.

Also you may want to practice on some animals in posters that highlight where you need to aim:

Interesting. I wasn't aware of that. The vitals are in a different area for a broadside shot. The vitals are much farther forward on African animals than they are on North American animals.
