In an Indian context one of IOF ones.

Telescopes can be mounted on any rifle, even ones not designed to take one. Depends on how much you want a scope.

well i have recently got addition in my arms licence for a rifle. i already have a over under shot gun but a shot gun is not my type of gun , you cannot mount a telescope and hit the target as accurate as you can. so i am planning for a rifle and zeroed on .22 iof .

the .22 lr had advantages :

1. price of ammunition most economical and easily available
2. lesser recoil and soft handling gun feature
3. Good for target practice
4. Good accuracy.
5. reliability of ammunition and choice of ammunition make.
6. Low initial cost

disadvantages :

1. lesser powerful stopping power
2. lesser noise for showing off..
3. less suitable for home defense.
4. lesser resale value

these dis advantages are in comparison to .315 and 30-06 rifles available in market and at present 30-06 is the most deadly calibre available in india.

cud any body please correct me if i am wrong on the specs of .22 rifle and guide me to correct.

ankur.

Go for Canon Lg65 rifle. .22 calibre best for accuracy and target practice. Also best in .22 calibre. Cost will be max.3.5k.
Thanks

Hi Guys,
> In my considered opinion while PCPs are good in terms of :
1. Smooth firing due to low trigger pull (1.75 to 2.5lbs)
2. Multiple shots as some of them come with rotary magazines (holding upto 10 shots)
3. Low noise levels
4. Higher fps in both 0.177 & 0.22cals
5. Comparatively better accuracy
6. Less recoil - saves scope damage

> The downside is:
1. The need to carry a scuba tank as one fill is good for 40 to 60 shots
2. If a hand pump is used - the manual effort to pump in a min of 200bar pressure
3. The hassle of carrying Scuba Tank / Hand Pump / Tubes / Hoses with valves etc.
4. Needs the services of skilled mechanics in the event of malfunction
5. Non-easy availability of critical spares.
