Young Talent denied a shot at the Guwahati National Games
Re: Armless shooter at the National Games
Aridam.
By the account given by you,you and your wife hold 9 firearms. The Arms Act allows for 3 firearms per person with an additional .22 rimfire rifle for a member of NRAI( this is allowed by a govt. notification). Is there some different Act applicable to Bihar?

It's not three licenses but three firearms.Whether on one or two or three licenses,is immaterial. The amendment to restrict ownership of firearms to three was made in 1983.

Shahid,
In 1947 ,when the Britishers left,Bihar as one of the best governed states in India.Going by what you say,Bihar has not slipped back to 1927 but to 1827.

penpusher,
I was born in Bihar and spent 24 years in that state. What Shahid says is true.
There are more surprises but I shall stop here
All the best....

A man should have a hobby. It keeps him out of trouble.
I do have my concerns for the people of Bihar and will try my best to improve their lot and provide employment opportunities to the youth of Bihar.
The poverty and lawlessness that prevails, lack of education, health and economic opportunity has truely slipped it back to the dark ages.
Yes in 1950s during the tenure of SriKrishna singh it was the best governed state. But since then we have really lost the way. Both my party and the opposition are to be blamed equally. But there is hope.
THe good people of Bihar who excel in every walk of life are still there. But none of them remain there. After finishing my education in Welhams boys and The Doon School, I used to be enrolled in St. Michael's High School, Patna during 11th and 12th Standard.
Out of 150 batchmates in that class, number of batchmates in Patna today = Zero. Even the last guy Mohit Shah who was a lawer in Patna High court, now practices in the Delhi SUpreme court.
Look at Arindam. He chooses to be in Delhi to educate his children. A sad truth about a glorious state.

Re: Armless shooter at the National Games
Shahid. I don't think you are well versed with Trap & Skeet as far as I can make out from your posts. Let me make it clear to you. Most of the competitions held in India are held under the ISU ( International Shooting Union ) rules. For Skeet and Trap, whether Senior or Junior, the Finals are held over 5 rounds of 25 Birds each held over 2 days with 3 rounds (75 Birds) on the 1st day & 2 rounds (50 Birds) on the final day. The only difference being that in the senior category the first six shooters after the completion of 5 rounds, shoot another round of 25 Birds to decide the medal winners taking their tally to 150 Birds in total and making it 6 rounds of 25 Birds each. For the women, whether Senior or Junior, the finals are held over a day in 3 rounds of 25 Birds each totalling 75 Birds. Trap has 5 Stations in a straight line with six shooters to a round and Skeet has 8 Stations, 7 are in a Semi circle starting from directly below Station no.1 (High House) and the 7th being just in front of the low house whereas the 8th Station is between the High House and Low House directly in line with them with six shooters to a round. Each Bird is just one point.

Let me make it clear penpusher. The rules are no different in Bihar as in the rest of the country but I being a "Renowned Shot" in both Trap and Skeet can keep two additional Shotguns each for both Trap and Skeet in addition to the 3 that anyone can keep and a .22 as mentioned by you for being a member of NRAI.

Thanx Shahid. What make are the shooting glasses? My son has all the other equipment i.e. Shooting vest, ear muffs, ear plugs etc. and I was looking for a good set of Glasses with three shades for shooting in different light conditions for him.shahid";p="13836 wrote: This BOSS 20 bore with 26 inch barrels will be quite a field gun. Let me know if you need shooting vest, earmuffs or shooting glasses for your son. The score deserves a present for further encouragement. He also gets a Holland & Holland DVD from me on Trap & sporting clays shooting. Instructor is Ken Davies himself.

Shahid. I have shortlisted RANDOLPH shooting glasses as they are supposed to be the best and all top shooters use it.
