Do some research on this forum there are few recommendations and there are other sites like
http://www.dpreview.com/
If you want one stop site for all the info and for various budgets and types of cameras
http://kenrockwell.com/
Again its best to learn basics of photography first and what exactly you want to shoot. Expensive cameras doesnt mean great photo - its the person behind the camera and skills that matter. Importantly budget is a factor whether its DSLR or point and shoot you want?
Others can chime in also
Cheers

Right!!! That's an Ibex. If I remember it right, it is Caucasian Tur. Not sure though, forgot the family.
I saw them in the Zoo in Munich, Germany. The horns were too captivating, so made a photo trophy for myself

Ram

Daghestani Tur?
Heard it being called that by a Daghestani I met recently.
deserves a nice 7x64mm, on a classical 98 DSB Mauser action.

Re: Wildlife Photography
Considering the territory they're found in, yup, would be a good choice, the 7 mil
Ok, a 800mm Tamron for those of us who want it that way? but will have a lot of mm short.
I am NOT going to correct that man-He is 6'6', built like a tank, and sells huuge knives for a living.
Wren& Martin?too sacrosant to use in more than 1 thread.

Re: Wildlife Photography
Dear Comrades,
After seeing the some beautiful pics posted by you, am encouraged to post a few clicks of mine shot from Sony Cybershot & Canon Xs 20D. Well I have clicked them on "Auto" mode
Havent had the patience yet to learn this form of shooting. Am nowhere daring to compare it with other experts here. Pls pardon me if it offends even the basics of photography
My recent trip to Gir clicked with Canon
ISCKON in Delhi
Sunrise in Gir Forest
It was in December & we could see the fog on the river in Gir
Pigeon
On our way back from Somnath to Gir. Spotted 3 jackals crossing the road & by the time I could grab the camera they disappeared
My visit to Kodaikanal
Not sure what bird it is - shot in Gir
Couldnt get a clear shot as my cousin disturbed its peace & it shyed away
Shot with Sony Cybershot in Khajiar
Not sure what bird it is
Sanjay Gandhi National Park
Wilderness...
Sea gulls shot in Dubai
After what our members have posted, these pics are as good as a 3 year old kid with a camera, but am equally enthusiastic of sharing it
Based on the feedback, will dare to post more pics. I do have better clicks, but they are not wildlife related.
Am now determined to attend Canon workshop to put my prosumer to good use & read the manual too
Cheers,
Rup
