a mother's day gift.
made a knife for my mom as a gift for mother's day.
steel - old rasp (most probably W1)
bolster - deer horn (fibre liners were used)fitted using ss pins and araldite.
handle - seasoned teak wood fitted using 6 ss pins (no glue).
total length - 200mm;blade length - 90mm; width - 32mm; thickness - 2.5mmsteel - old rasp (most probably W1)

Nice job, and a wonderful gift. Is the intended use in kitchen? If yes, isn't the thickness more than what kitchen knives have?

choombak...thank you...she's been using it for the past 15 days. it has a full flat grind and slices very well. it is still hair shaving sharp. so, 2.5mm thick is really not a problem.
