beware punjab gun owners........
Here after the murder of the famous business person owner of grand sekhon hotel in jallandhar, the punjab police headquarter has ordered for the screening of all the arms licence issued in the state.by giving the orders DGP of punjab mr.P.S gill has given the instructions to the police commissioners as well as ssp,s of the all districts to go for the screening of the weapons,b,cos they have informatiom that many people in punjab have got the arm licence without having any threat of life, for which they will verify the arm licence and will seized the weapons after verifying.
They also have a information that many peoples in punjab have got their licence by approaching politicians as well as with the close terms of the officers, instead they don,t require the arm licence.
According to the official reports they have information that many districts have issued the licence in retail in last 2 yrs,in many cases the d.m has also issued the licence even without taking any police reports. and the main target for this will be jallandhar, ludhiana, amritsar etc.

They have got arms licenses in "retail", now to protect their licenses they should join NAGRI in wholesalethey have information that many districts have issued the licence in retail in last 2 yrs

a murder took place of a famour businessman in Jalandhar, is alltoghter a different issue which comes under the police dept. to investigate etc. of the area where incident took palce, appaerently has got nothing to do with screening of the license and seizure of weapons hold by the citizens. and on the baseless, useless and misleading information what the Punjab police is trying to prove?!!, and also we all aware that this kind of an incidents happens in every corner of all states, so doest mean that the Police Dept.of all the states will follow the same foot print of the Punjab police?!!! come-on now it's high time let us all NAGRI members raise our voice in terms of whichever way we can.

Re: beware punjab gun owners........
well tis not the gun that does the crime , rather the hand and motive behind the hand and personal grudges behind motive and a sequence of related happenings which led to the gruesome crime which left a young and promising handsome business man loose his life .....
the question of "arms license " is an excersise to devate people from the real matter ... how the people whoa re in power become reckless and are not afraid of law any more... not in punjab it is every where... may it be jessica lal murder in new dehli or this incident.
the people in power and regime and their relatives get easy arms license and they often use it as advantage over common men and frequently show off their possession in public. i think there should be check on the displaying of weapons and concealed carry should be a mandatory practice.

bro ,
nothing is going to happen ,weapon is not at any fault it's just like any other tool ,only dirty brain behind is at fault. Number of people in my knowledge carry handguns from 20-30 years without any problem.
In 2009 a family friend was returning from rohtak (haryana) to his home town Ambala(time was around 11.30 p.m.) in his car, a bolero (white coloured without number plates) chased them for 15/16 kilometers to over take them but any way he remained ahead and then he decided and fired three shots towards them with his revolver and white bolero immideatly stopped .
We aam Janta should tell these sarkari babus to see actual scenario.
criminal in capital city are roaming with imported weapons and we are being denied IOF's
