Info needed on Bulgarian .22 gun where bullet feeds through

Post by bulz_i » Thu Apr 28, 2011 11:24 am

Hello IFGians, I need some info regarding a Bulgarian .22 semi auto gun probably made in the 80's. The gun is about 3ft long and has intricate designs on the reciever. At the bottom of the reciever lies the cocking slider. There is a hole at the right side of the buttstock where 11 rounds of bullets can be feeded. There is also a shaft which pushes the bullet into the hole and acts as a lock to prevent the bullets from slipping out of the feeder. Thanking you guys in advance.

Sounds like a Browning, F.N. or Japanese made, semi-auto. Chinese also made/make a riplica (rip-off/replica).
Didn't know the Bulgarians ripped it off as well. A picture would help positive identification.

P.S.
Remington also made a licensed copy, the Model 241.

From your description its probably an FN Browning .22 Semi-Auto. Norinco also manufactures a copy. Of course if it the case, then its quite a revelation as i never knew Bulgarians made such guns.

Does it resemble this in anyway?... http://www.browning.com/products/catalo ... i-firearms

During the mid 80's, I saw a picture of two cops armed with the Browning.22 alongwith a drug sniffer dog in Bulgaria in a gun magazine. Therefore, the confusion. Dad had one of this beauties but sold it off.
