Introducing myself

Post by The Doc » Fri Feb 23, 2007 8:39 am

Hi Guys,

I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon from Punjab. I have possibly retrieved more bullets from my patients than I have actually fired. LOL. Jokes apart, I indeed have a great interest in firearms and anything that goes with it. A stickler for firearm safety I do enjoy the handling, plinking and target shooting. Hoping to have a lot of fun here so LETS PARTY ON GUYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome aboard, Rajesh.

Would you hunt again if sustainable legal hunting were introduced?

Only too happy to have another stickler for firearms safety on board. Keep spreading the word. Even to those who know because a refresher never hurts.

What firearms do you own and shoot?

Hello Rajesh,

Welcome aboard! We are always happy to have shooters here and, like you, we do not condone hunting in India as it is illegal. That said, our members who live abroad (or even those who visit abroad) do hunt where hunting is permitted legally and conducted in a legal and environmentally friendly way.

We do have some members, like you, who are not hunters and we enjoy ribbing them. Be prepared to have some jokes come your way. That apart, anyone who enjoys guns and shooting is most welcome here. Yes, do let us know what guns you own and have shot in the past as Mack The Knife has asked you. Do also bring over friends of yours who may either be shooters or interested in the shooting sports. And, do post often.

Cheers!

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the warm welcome. I own a Webley Primier ( my pride and joy) and a IOF .22 ( which is not so bad after all). I indeed have fired a variety of firearms my all time fav being a Remington 30.06. Mack The Knife and Mehul, I have never indulged in illegal hunting. In past only when the himachal or punjab govts opened hunting to control the menace of blue bulls or wild boars i have done it with a valid permit. Whether I will hunt again I am not too sure. Menace control yes otherwise no Jim Corbet here.

Rajesh,

Stand by for an avalanche of questions on how you managed to swing the permit. Well done!

Rajesh,

I think you got me wrong. I rpesumed you were anti hunting but pro gun ownership like some of our members are. Personally, I hunt and shoot but then I live in the USA, not in India. I do wish, too, that India's forsts grow back to their original extent and that the wildlife in India becomes plenty enough to hunt again.

If you go through our forums you would see that we did have an IFG hunt in Indiana last year in honour of a visiting member from India, Inderjeet Singh. If you were to make it to Chicago and we had a hunt at the time, you would be most welcome to join. In the meantime, keep shooting and try and fill your three gun limit by buying more guns whenever you can. 8)

Do post often and keep in touch with us.

Anand my friend, general surgeons only look after the tummy part. We orthopods look after the limbs and the spine. We indeed have a greater field to play on!! Ha ha !!!

I'd love to fill in my 3 gun quota but I need to simply fall in love with a weapon first , before I buy it. Lets see when I get lucky.
