Guns for Goons not for citizens

Post by Biren » Thu Mar 10, 2011 11:34 am

With spate of murders in capital, and Hon'ble Chief Minister and PC shifitng blame it, whom shall comman citizen look? Here a pic published in 10th March of "The Hindu" speaks thousand words, where college students carrying playcard have asked " Guns for Goons and not for Comman Citizens". (A girl going to college in broad day light was shot) Quit thought provoking.

Cannt we all take out a similiar procession highlighting the plight of comman citizen with proliferation of illegal weapon, poor policing and directionless gov coming out with darconian laws?

Cheers
Biren

Let me put whole story

Radikha Tanwar was on way to her collage when in broad day light somebody shot her. Police say she was shot with a .315 handgun. No body came to her rescue. I am not able to upload the picture where her co students were seen carrying playcard "Guns for goons and not for citizen" Implying what NAGRI has been saying.

This incident is one more to worry about.......

.315 handgun ? Do they mean a crude contraption like the one below that can fire the .315 rifle cartridge ? Or is there a .315 pistol cartridge ?

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

It must be Desi Katta, crude mechanism like Contender center fire pistols, I guess

very common in UP, Bihar and northern MP

Desi kattas meant for chambering our desi rifle ammo are quite common.

We are fighting with NAGRI . The issue has already been presented to the home committee if required we can hold a demonstration too , but lets give the law makers and home committee a chance and see what happen in the meanwhile increase NAGRI memberships by making people sign up. Make NAGRI a force to reckon with. Show the politicians that it will hurt their vote bank if they hurt the legal legitimate guns /and gun owners. That is the only thing they understand. Lets make NAGRI a strong organization like the NRA.

Hi All,

To be heard, its important that message goes to all. All means, groups apart from those who believe in right to own guns but also people who believe in freedom with responsibility as well those who believe goverment should trust its citizens.

Pressure on goverment can be mounted by holding rallies, media driven campains, educating people as well bringing together like minded groups.

But going through recent media reports (wikileaks) it seems nothing works more on this Goverment then american pressure. India is a huge market for small arms. America is a big producer. Just imagine if all of a sudden Big brother realizes the potential this market holds. Its going to be a win win situation for all. (Politicians included)

Very true but how many people understand this fact in our country? How many people know arms is a "freedom" guaranteed under Article 19 of our Constitution but still that "guaranteed" freedom is elusive. For most people ignorance is a bliss rather a freedom.
So Biren when do walk down vijaypath to india gate.. i m in.. lets do it...
I am also in but how many do we have in total? First let us gather our "forces" in some respectable numbers.
