Have you talked with other gun owners in Punjab. How they get ammunition quota increased?
one thing i also wants to confirm that mine licence carry two arms, for which mine ammunation quota will be for both the weapons or it will be 25/250 +25/250 yearly for both the weapons. :?:
It depends on how it is written on your license? Usually it is written in a manner that means separately for both the weapons i.e. 25/250 + 25/250.
Dear goodboy_mentor,
Probably darashp is correct on 25 Cartridge quota in Punjab. I have seen about 14 arm licences issued in Punjab from dist Mohali, Ropar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Hoshiarpur, Patiala and all had 25 Cartridge quota. The case is however different in Maharashtra for example there is no uniformity in ammo quota between Mumbai, Thane and Pune and I have seen this personally. A uniform policy at federal government is needed for the ammo quota.

Yes I am also aware of this fact about 25 cartridges quota in Punjab. This is probably going on for many decades. Probably since 1962, the year when Arms Act 1959 came into force. I had seen one shotgun license issued from Ferozepur around 1980, it also had 25 cartridge quota on it. But the main question is do the people in Punjab want to fight this or accept this nonsense. If they want to fight, then how?

Yes even Arms Rules 1962 does not have any specific "quota" specified. This "quota" thing is the creation of government babus. They created "quotas" for everything from VIP quota, rationed rice quota, wheat quota, government jobs quota, petrol pump allotment quota or whatever that comes from government has a "quota" associated with it.
A uniform policy at federal government is needed for the ammo quota.
The best policy would be to do away with quota.
