Rusty, I think the bore-sighter is used as a tool to get your on the target and then fine tune it from there. When I installed a scope on my 22, I got on paper by removing the bolt and seeing thru the receiver and bore and then thru the scope and match the two. I'm sure this will be a little more difficult for air guns.

Re: zero pointing .22
That is precisely what I have been told by those who use them and have mentioned as such on this thread.Rusty, I think the bore-sighter is used as a tool to get your on the target and then fine tune it from there.
However, Danish claims otherwise.

Look forward to it, Danish.
BTW, how do you ensure that the rifle and collimator are level before leveling the reticles and adjusting for zero?

I know that, Danish. However, if your rifle and bore-sighter were not level to start with, aligning the reticle to the x and y coordinate would mean that you are creating a cant.
Does your bore sighter have a spirit level and do you use a spirit level on the rifle as well?

Bore sighters are a handy gadget to have, however for chaps that don't have one, you can do a passable job by aiming at a mirror from across the room. Have the gun supported as the steadier it is the better results you will have.

Nice kit Danish. But since I only have a .22 lr and a .177 air rifle both of which share the same scope. So I normally shoot a few rounds to zero em. I know my one scope pretty well and so I can do it in a few shots.

This bore sighter has a pack of 16 tools .ie. .177, .22, 6mm, .25, 6.5mm, .27, 7mm, .30, .32, .338, .35, .375, .44, .45, .50 and a shot gun arbor of 12,16 & 20 bore. It can be used to zero different rifles, handguns and shotguns. I have zero my diana 36 which has a diana 4x20 scope attached. It works properly till 30 to 40 shots but after that i have to re zero it. But this is not in the case or rifles. I have zero many rifles but non of them had any complaints, they work perfectly. But still u have to check the accuracy of ur rifle by firing it on the target.

By using this u don't have to waste ur rounds. Infact u should keep one with u always if u share a same scope for 2 guns.
