Many members have expressed the view that getting an arms license is extremly difficult in India , as the authorities are to be satisfied of the requirement of a firearm for the applicant. In this case it appears, the license has been received without any questioning etc. Further he has asked the question under handguns, perhaps he is not aware of the the broad difference of firearms, yet license has been issued to him not for one but two firearms. We need not continue the arguments here as it is the incorrect place of the forum to do so.

Justice alone is the mainstay of government and the source of prosperity to the governed, injustice is the most pernicious of things; it saps the foundations of the government and brings ruin upon the realm - Sher Shah Sur, Sultan-ul-Adil.

Mr.Ajay either you have some misunderstanding regarding the name " Anmol" or you are referring to something else. By the way if you are referring to the IOF revolver made by Field Gun Factory or Small Arms Factory Kanpur, then you need to pay the money as per the information given on the website of the company i.e. to the manager of the respected company with the relevant documents. http://ofbindia.nic.in/index.php?wh=Spo ... ms&lang=en It is advised to pay the entire sum in one go .

Lets not lose hope my friend, may be the new 4" barrel and chunkier grip model which is supposed to come out in April 2011 (according to the newspapers) will be labeled as Mark IV ?

Regards,
I booked the revolver in Chandigarh cable factory in Sept. last year just beacause of this reason they told me in dec they just got inadequate supply and I have to wait till may. It is still unknown if I have to pay more amount or not .Just in 2009 those booked before the price rise of mark3 had to pay 63,000 .

I Suppose you will have to pay the difference if you get the upgraded model. But what I feel is that the IOF will continue to produce the current version . And the customers will have an option to chose from .

So this means that the waiting period for the IOF revolver booked from Chandigarh is about 9 months !!
No wonder the waiting period for Ashani booked from Chandigarh is 2 years or more !

I think you are right Prabhdeep, I heard that in the first leg, only a thousand odd pieces of long barrel IOF revolver will be produced. I guess they want to see how well is it received by the consumers.
