Can I import pcp air rifle without shooting club membership.

Post by englishtown » Sun Mar 06, 2011 5:05 pm

hello 2 all

As i went thru sm info regarding import of air files. I learnt one thing that there is no objection for .177 caliber models.

I want to buy online pcp air rifle with scope thru pyramydair.com

I don't hv any shooting association/ club membership. B'cuz there is no shooting range or club in my area.

If i place an order with pyramydair will customs detain / confiscate air gun ??????

plz clarify .

Please go through the forum and you will find all the information required on this. If you don't have a shooting association/ club membership, customs will detain and confiscate your air rifle. There is no provision in the customs regulations for import without shooting association/ club membership, unless you bring it along with you when you travel abroad. You cannot import via courier without a club/shooting association membership. Do not attempt to import without a membership! Customs rules state that if you do not complete the formalities of clearing your shipment within 30 days, customs will dispose your shipment.

Import of .177 airrfile and airpistols are allowed duty free for members of shooting clubs andrifle associations of state.
Non members will be charged a duty of 35% flat as customs but this is the pure discretion of the officer on duty .He can also detain/confiscate the gun which you can later on appeal and it will be cleared after paying a flat 35% duty . Once detained /confiscated for import by a non member of any rifleclub/association it takes anything between two to four months to get cleared. At times it could even be longer.
