The following has been taken at random off the net. Don't have time to read through it but it should be okay.

Re: zero pointing .22
As far as I know and let me say at the onset that I am no expert, there is no certain way to do it accurately unless you fire a few shots and zero it. First you have to decide at what distance you want it zeroed on. Tie your weapon firmly to something so that it does not move but it should be aligned parallel to the ground preferably facing a wall. See through the scope at the exact area of the wall where the crosshair is fixed. Make a target at that point on the wall. Then fire a shot and see where it hits. Accordingly adjust the crosshairs and keep firing till you hit the exact area where the crosshair is fixed. If you have experience you can do it in 5 shots.Remember that after you have zeroed it you will have to adjust your shot accordingly by shootig below the target if it is nearer and above it if it is further than the distance that you have zeroed the weapon on. How much below or how much above will depend on the distance and you will get the hang of it slowly.

To zero the scope of your rifle u can use a bore sighter. Just insert the Boresighter in your barrel, look through your scope and adjust the crosshairs so they align with the ones on the Boresighter. You dont have to waist any more bullets.
I bought this bore sighter three years back and now i do the charity job of setting scopes for my friends or any one who want to set his gun zero.
I got this shot gun arbor for free by buying this bore sighter.

You're the expert Danish. I am more into Trap & Skeet but at my ancestral place , which is back of beyond, we did not have much options in those days so the method mentioned by me, though tedious, was very effective.danish21";p="12886 wrote: To zero the scope of your rifle u can use a bore sighter. Never used a boresighter but I uderstand they only give a rough zero, not an exact one.
The first and most important thing is to get your rifle level (no cant). I use a home made rest for this. Then the vertical reticle is aligned against a string/line which is weighted down. After this the rifle is bore sighted (whilst looking through the bore) and then finally zered on paper.

Since i am using this i always got the accurate readings. There are chances when scope in air rifle is not locked properly it slips from the bracket of the mount after 2 or 3 shots. Well regarding rifle, it is dead accurate wether its a .22, 30.06, 7mm or .375 magnum.

As it so happens I was refering to the boresighter only providing a rough zero on centrefire rifles (a .270 Win. and a .375 H&H Mag., to be precise) and not air-rifles.
Scope creep on air-rifles has nothing do with this.

I stick to my old method as I find it the most reliable.danish21";p="12947 wrote:Badshahbadshah0522";p="12892 wrote: Hi Danish!

This bore sighter has a pack of 16 tools .ie. .177, .22, 6mm, .25, 6.5mm, .27, 7mm, .30, .32, .338, .35, .375, .44, .45, .50 and a shot gun arbor of 12,16 & 20 bore. It can be used to zero different rifles, handguns and shotguns. I have zero my diana 36 which has a diana 4x20 scope attached. It works properly till 30 to 40 shots but after that i have to re zero it. But this is not in the case or rifles. I have zero many rifles but non of them had any complaints, they work perfectly. But still u have to check the accuracy of ur rifle by firing it on the target.
