Post by CKAY » Mon Feb 14, 2011 1:29 pm

Hi and greeetings to all,

I need to know which is a better choice in competition pistols Morini,Pardini or Steyr.

Your advice and suggestions are welcome.I would also like to know the advantage of an electronic trigger over a manual trigger.

steyr may cost more but it will last and you will have no any issues with it, also you may consider compact version, aiming with shorter compacts a way less challenging for beginners.

also why not to consider izh-46M

without paying a fortune for Steyr you can do well in first few competitions with IZH and sale it later.

some guys on range having IZH .. try you may like it

What is the feedback on the Gamo Compact or Daisy Avanti 747.
My sister wants to start it, i dont want to give her something too complicated.

Reviews for the 747 is decent of starter, But i wanted to know is someone has tried it here on the forum.

Hello Sa_ali
If your sister wants to eventually get into ISSF shooting, I would suggest you go for either the steyr or Morini, Pardini has a longer sight radius and therefore holding the sights steady for a beginner is a tad more difficult. Secondly, what matters is the trigger operation, the Morini gives you the best in trigger (manual or electronic), next comes the pardini and then the steyr. But I still recommend the Steyr for the beginner.
Best Regards

Hi Sa_ali

The Gamo compact is good for starters .I have used this. But I think the effort for the pumping will be a bit too much for your sister.
Other wise its quite accurate and has a sturdy build. The grip is a bit different and takes time to get used to.

Thanks for the inputs.

hvj1, those 2 are lil heavy on pocket for the beginners. :)

She is looking for something which doesnt burdens her too much, while she can have ease of use.

Thanks for the input, never used 747, on the net i have found loads of review where ppl swear for its accuracy.

Hi Sa_ali. the gamo compact is a nice starter pistol. I got one last year from Hong Kong and am now upgrading to a Steyr LP10. I am thinking of selling my gamo compact which is in excellent condition. Let me know if you are interested in buying it for your sister. I am a member of MRA. Let me know if you are interested in the same

I'd recommend the Morini over the Steyr as the Steyr seems finicky on the ammo it likes. Firangi pellets - it digests well, the desi ones - it prefers not... !

Morini - well, anything goes... no problem.. :)
