Replica bullets

Hello everyone

I came across a site which sells replica bullets. Is it legal to import them to India? Any information regarding this is helpful. I searched the site and could not locate info about this. KIndly shed some light on the import of replica bullets.

"Inert cartridge" would be the correct term. "Replica bullet" is a nonsense term. Always encouraging to have people sell things they do not know, or can spell, the name of.

my remarks were not directed at you at all, but at the advertisers. They should know better than calling a "cartridge" a "bullet" in the first place, And they should know the meaning of "replica" as well. And, for instance, people who advertise the installation of muzzle "breaks", should know that those are muzzle "brakes".

An "inert cartridge" resembles a live round in every way, except that it cannot be fired, the primer and charge are inert. They are put together from standard components, except that the primer contains no priming compound, and the charge is noncombustible. They are mainly used for function testing of the gun mechanism, and training, without firing.

Now, if you turned a cartridge from solid brass, turned a fake primer in its base and head stamped it, that just might be termed a non-functioning "replica". A replica is an exact duplicate of something that is no longer available.

That I cannot tell you. There would be no reason why you should not be able to. But Indian Arms and Import Laws do not always follow reason. Or so it would seem. Probably not worth the hassle trying to convince customs, etc. that it can't go bang. Cheers.

Tony, I can only share my experience. I liked some inert .470 NE cartridges in a gun shop in UK. When asked if I could carry them with me on a flight, the dealer told me that I would have to take a letter from the Firearms department and submit it at the air port. Obviously, I let it pass. But, one can try always.

Dude there is no .416 cal Barrett .Heckler & Koch makes a version of m-16/m-4 carbine with gas piston mechanism which they sell as HK416 but it uses same 5.56*45 mm ammo and the 8mm mauser you are taking about is ww2 era 7.92*57 mm Mauser ammo which will be very difficult to find..50 cal BMG(ball machine gun)rounds have a cartridge that is 99mm in lengthSeriuosly you are gonna carry it in your pocket?30/06 is the Springfield 7.62*63 mm ammo used by the US during ww2 which is also quite rare

They are legal to own and import but customs can give you hard time in importing..
