all my brothers in arms.......this may be the worst day in a shooters life and this is a grevious problem......
My DAD WONT LET ME SHOOT.....!!!!!
Given the facts that i have topped the district and division level he forbids me into states.....when asked for a reason daddy told me 'beta padhai par dhaan do masti baad mein hoti rahegi' i am like HAAN but shooting is not masti for me its my passion and when the pellet leaves the barrel and when i know that its has hit its mark its the most wonderfull feeling.....under these circumstances its hard to keep oneself motivated...and i am thinking of giving up shooting altogeather....but cant convience myself cause its impossible for me please IFG'ns tell me what to do?

Savage, get your grades at both places right . since one is already right, is the second one concerning him?? tell him that you can manage it., rather prove it!!

your dad would be knowledgable in the sport, and want you to take it further, else he wouldn't support you till this level, which is a great thing. is he asking you to concentrate on studies as it is academic year ending?? reasonable ask huh?.. or is your behaviour suggesting an obsession?

Do-able mate, your want will drive you to do things that are required, and you need to get into your old man's shoes to understand the fix..understand that any restriction is momentary and not permanent debacle. Don't we all get through tough situations, you will too..

yeah i guess hes right asusual , in his heart he is supporting me as he allowed me to get a ihp compressed even if i had to pay for it ......i think that he is agitated cause of my boards are round the corner

you also have to tell him that there are sports quota seats in all government colleges, particularly the good ones, and all public sector companies. Your shooting is not masti, but can be a full fledged career. It can launch you in college and get you a job.

Of course, you do need to clear your boards first

If it helps you, my dad dished something similar. did it stop me, no...just postponed things for a while till i got the exams out of my way.

Agree with Anand .Sports quota is a great asset but remember it better be from nationals state etc doesnt carry the same weight or If I recall there is a grading system for sports some are rated higher than others..bottom line need discipline to do both doable but means less party time. work on it and gather more information .. most of probably had the same issues..remember he is THE Big Daddy so tread carefully
