Re: importing night vision biinoculars
Can you please provide copy of the document or link that says "import of night vision optics are banned" or anything similar. AFAIK night vision optics devices are just optical devices with enhanced capability to view in darkness.you are not allowed to import night vision optics as it is banned in India.....

Re: importing night vision biinoculars
As per goodboy SIr,if you think it to be a device only that enhances your visibility in darkness, you think this and I think this what about white collar babu's????
for this you need to have the NOC of the local authority but this the maker in India whom I know.
I think up to some short of luminosity level will be their if you go beyond that luminosity you will have to go for the NOC.
It is always good to get yourself clear from the manufacturer, they can give you the clear picture.
well some more companies are also their.
kindly see for the Budget.

Re: importing night vision biinoculars
I do not think that night vision devices are prohibited in India. Did not ever come across any notifications etc.
andy you can carry the night vision device to and and from USA. The only ones restricted ones that I know of are the IR optical devices. These are not allowed to be exported or shipped by courier FROM the USA.

If you are having the valid papers you can carry but you cannot carry in J&k and Assam and other red zone areas in country for this you need to have the carrying certificate and NOC copy with you by your local authority.andy_65_in wrote:can u carry back a night vision device tousa etc-ive got one which is defective and needs repairs
As far as repairing is concern you can carry it for repairing up to the company or courier to the manufacturer kindly first talk to him and then do the rest

Re: importing night vision biinoculars
In context to the writing of winnie_the_pooh sir.
Once I had talked to the Lawrence and mayo the optic manufacturing company located in CP he told me that.
It may be from the point of view of being stolen and fall in wrong hands.

Re: importing night vision biinoculars
Not to sound like a pessimist here, but most night vision equipment in the USA requires export permits, and failure to obtain that permit is a federal crime if you are caught taking a device out of the country. It applies to all 2nd generation and higher equipment, and may or may not be required for Generation 1, it depends on the device.
