Hello Folks looks like the Tavor has begun to see service in India thanks to the Accelerated acquisition programme undertaken by the MOD

I do remember the local rag in Nagaland had a good close up of the Tavor in IA SF hands...the soldier holding it looked almost Pakistani...with a big beard.

Seen it make a grand appearance in traffic junctions on several occasions in Diampur and Kohima.

Atleast they look sexy. :)

ha
so much for the loyaity and patronism of home made goods like the INSA.

it goes to show what is INSA if using frangi arms.

sexy maybe but does it give crabs?

As far as i know, Tavor is for special forces while INSAS is for regular infantry.

they also got 130 Galil 7.62 sniper riles, pretty good cheap rifle, for shoot and run type of operations. Any one cant expect to be serious with this Kalashnikov derived rifle again real sniper.
http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn32-e.htm

two really good recent semi auto made in USA

Armalite AR10 SuperSass 308 Rifle 20" w/Mock Suppressor & Adjustable Stock

and

DPMS LR 308 SASS

Both those two rifles are excellent, personally would prefer Armilate AR10 because of longer barrel and .308 can be suppressed pretty well.

cost in basic configuration without scope about US$2K, I suspect that similar price were paid for USD$150 Galil

here is superior German sniper rifle also same as Tavor bullpup action

was it not you jonah who spoke aloud about the INSA being the best rifle in the world? must find that old thread :D

special forces or not, let me say this even the brits SAS used ordinary rifle ie SLR the common weapon of the army. not only that they used USA M16 in jungle arena.

only for hostage situation they use MP5s.

sounds like load of C**p to me!

Travor has been around for a while even IOF claims they make these - good luck with tight tolerances. They even rechristened it as Zittara

Best gun is the one you have so good luck to the guys hope they are importing the ammo too. I hope these folks conducted proper evaluation against other available assault rifles - I doubt it though.

tavor is for SF and even NSG is getting them now.tavor is deadly accurate.

infantry uses INSAS but for CI ops they use AK 47.for pistols they use browning or beretta ,while the SF are using glocks, browning hi power and they use suppressors with the pistols.
