AIMCO M300 and pellets for the same
Hi all,
After going through all the reviews about AIMCO M300 air rifle in this forum, I have made up my mind to own that air rifle, I need a help from the esteemed members of this forum. As per AIMCO website, M300 is a 5.5mm caliber air rifle, and I am confused as to what brand of pellets to buy and what type, since AIMCO has multi brand and multi type listed i.e. Flathead, round head, pointed etc, their own brand, gsmith brand etc.... Which brand/ type of pellet would suit this underlever M300 air rifle? Pl give your inputs. Thanks in advance
Regards

M300 Owners, please advice on the pellets, i have decided to buy the M300 from Aimco, was checking with them if the rifle comes with any different (wood) shades in the stock and also asked for GSmith Pellets. Here is their response.
"Dear sir,
The m300 comes in only one stock colour, gsmith pellets are not recommended for m300 if you still wish to opt for the same you can do so but for m300 we suggest aimco pellets. Please advise we shall send you the quote accordingly.
Regards,
Aimco "

Re: AIMCO M300 and pellets for the same
mastershot pellets are still available atleast in Goa
Ps during my recent visit to Kovi shop i was also told that GSmiths are imported pellets however the reality is that they are made in pune to the best of my knowledge so its better you look around. In general my experiences with mastershot export quality have been far better than with the Gsmiths

The good part is anyone can say anything!!! when it comes to guns...charan wrote:Just been to a Bangalore dealer (Kovi shop), he tells me that MasterShot is no longer in production and that its now comming as Marshal Shot ??
Marshal shot is for sure an old brand, but not the same as Mastershot... take a walk on NR road (opposite SP Road) on the left side before the start of fly over before the Bus bays, you will see a lot of stores and you can pickup the pellets for the right price from any one of them.

Re: AIMCO M300 and pellets for the same
hi friends
I own an AMCO 300 under lever air rifle. I tried Amco pallets, Wadcutter flat head pallets, G. Smith & Co. flat head and high split pattets. Ny observation is that the G. Smith & Co. flat head pallets fit perfictly in bolt of Aimco 300 ,some times I even had to push pallet a little with a kind of poker, to fit it in the bolt. The result of the pallets was fantastic.
Next to the result of the G. Smith & Co. flat head the results I obtained were from G. Smith High Split and Wad Cutter flat head.
I tried some other manufacturers with pointed head pallets but resuls woudl certainly discourage any one so I preffer Wadcuter flat head and G. Smith & Co. Flat Head.

Re: AIMCO M300 and pellets for the same
Folks,
Had a walk around the City Mraket area. There were several brands and most feel IHP is a very old and outdated (although trusted) model. There were other brands like Eagle (quite good quality, comparable to IHP), SISCO, New Light (also refered as Bhati) and several local (no brand) ones. One of the dealers (near Shivajinagar) even took me to the workshop there they totally rip the gun into pieces, refurbish it with new locally carved stock, new springers, custom paint on stock and resell them. He offered to make a best custom assembled (refurbished) model for around 3k as per my specs.
Now, back to this thread's focus, Master Shot is available in plenty ! and so are several other brands (some start at Rs.20/- per 100). MS-Export Round is Rs.50/- per 100 (which I picked). When i told them my purpose of the gun was primarily to scare away crows and monkeys (apart from casual target practice), most of them recommended a 'cork'. Its like a paper bullet inserted at the tip of the barrel; when shot makes a loud noise (like a cracker). I was unable to see any posts about these in the forum, has any one used them ? The cork costs Rs.3/- each and is ideal for farms and fields.
I wanted an under lever and the only model all of em had was New Light (aka Bhati). Finish was not up to my expectation. Have just ordered a M300 after speaking to Joy (Aimco) earlier today, he tells me the cork can be loaded on the M300 model.
