Requesting Expert Advice for buying air rifle.

Post by indiageez » Tue Nov 23, 2010 12:50 pm

Hello experts,

I live in chennai, Tamilnadu. Its my long time interest to buy a air rifle but I am confused on which one to buy. My budget is below 6K and would like to have telescope mounted on the air rifle. I have browsed many posts in this forum and confused a bit on different models and companies. Some say IHP is best but they have only couple of models, Some say try others.

I am requesting you to give your opinion on good models in terms of good range and in other technical aspects. I am novice here.

Kindly help.

Thanks
BK

Hi,
Canon, Hessbee, Sisco & New Lite are some companies other than IHP and their quality seems to be at least at par with IHP if not better when compared to it.

Hola,

I have a SDB 150 .22 Air Rifle ( bought from N.C.Daw& Co. Calcutta -700001) 2 years ago for 2200.00.

I found it is very good, hard hitting but bit heavy. Cannot put a scope.

You can try this. If you are a strong buit Man then you might Love it too! :)

If you are entrant, I would recommend IHP .177 for a start.

Thanks for all the help!!!

Finally, I bought SDB 45 classic from chennai it has sling and scope rail(I dont know whether it is a good shot or not but as a beginner I think it should be OK) ... I enquired almost all the armory shops in chennai ..and none of them were dealing with IHPs except Tamilnadu armory but his price for IHP .22 is 8K , which is very high!!! Every shop here in chennai says IHPs has more problem and not reliable...when it comes to service or any fault there is no support etc etc.

Note: I dont recommend Sammandan & Sons... it seems like they have some mental conditions ... they are trying to sell some local air guns for more than 15K .. my GOD ...thanks to this forum ...I got some idea before I go to stores otherwise I must be a victim.

Thanks again for your kind help.

-BK

PS: I will soon post some pics of my new rifle

One more help guys ... Please give me pointer for "shooting guide and rifle handling".

shooting guide and rifle handling:

Try to use YouTube as they have interesting videos by experts instructing on shooting styles, handling, etc.
